See you at the Festival Gastronómico!
This is the second year for this wonderful event as well. Organized by the same people who bring you the amazing Atitlan Music Festival in Santiago. The boat will depart Panajachel at noon and cruise over to Santiago to the Posada de Santiago and the Hotel Bambu. There you will see in concert Carlos Funk, Marco Trio Electric, Imox Jazz Trio, Otis Brown and the Blu Dawgs, and the Kevin Warner Quartet. Plus enjoy more gourmet food!
There is limited seating on the boat (150) so get your tickets now online: http://www.festivalatitlan.com/cruise/cruiseeng.html
Don't want to go on the boat, but want to go to the festival? That is OK too. Reduced pricing there. Also, both the Posada and Bambu are offering reduced prices on rooms. Check the website for details. Be there or B-square!
If you don't already know, Casa Cakchiquel in Panajachel is having FREE movies on Saturday night. Classic movies such as Some Like It Hot, Dr. Zhivago, Casa Blanca that are always such a kick to see again. This week's movie is Arsenic and Old Lace (1944), a film from Frank Capra with Gary Grant, Priscilla Lane and Raymond Massey. A drama critic learns on his wedding day that his beloved maiden aunts are homicidal maniacs, and that insanity runs in his family. Hmmmmm….. sound like anyone you know?
