There will be a Release Air Yoga Retreat at the Isla Verde from the 6th to the 13th of December. “In this time together we will focus on letting go, completely disconnect from matter and bring our awareness to our own true being. This is the time where you will be able to unhinge, unplug, shed dead cells and slip into luminous skin of love. With the magic collaboration of Mindi Batson, co-founder of G-22, we will explore yoga, movement, music and dance like never before. Mindi’s passion and amazing energy will give us the chance to explore all the hidden spaces in our hearts filling it with love and joy. With inspiring afternoon classes focused on the liberation of the mind, release of the inner spirit and self expression workshops this retreat will welcome you to be the true manifestation of yourself and love every part of it. The most dangerous risk of all is not doing what you want on the bet that you will give yourself the freedom to do it later…”

Classes in drawing and paintings are given every Saturday morning, a small meal is provided, and on occasion the children are treated to an excursion, a barbecue, or other special event. Every month the mothers are provided with a basket of basic foodstuffs, and when possible with children's clothing items and/or school supplies.
The painters began by supporting the project on a percentage of the sales of their paintings from their gallery, by giving benefit events, and on the donations of visiting travelers. The addition of sponsors for the families in 2011 allowed the project to budget better, and benefits to the children and families increased in quantity and regularity. The project now assists 20 families; but more come to the gate every day asking for help.
This program has been in existence for 5 years and they welcome visitors and volunteers. Website: www.paintmyfuture.info

Are you Ready? The 11th Festival Atitlan will be celebrated on the 22nd of March, 2014. It’s time to start stirring up the magic necessary to pull off this kind of alternative event… As usual, Festival Atitlan is a nonprofit event, and this year they have chosen A.D.I.S.A., a local organization that cares for the needs of special needs children in Santiago Atitlan.
Since this is an alternative community event (YOU too!) Festival Atitlan is looking to make this festival a reflection of the beautiful variety of who we are and what we believe in. If we have more heads and hands we will be able to produce a more interesting and colorful event, and this is a good opportunity to connect some of the positive energies on Lake Atitlan. If you have a musical group, if you do poetry, theatre, dance, clowning, juggling, puppetry, performance art, or any other artistic manifestation that you would like to share, it’s time to write me and get signed up to be one of the Festival Atitlan artists for 2014: [email protected]. You will be sent an information packet…..
Festival Atitlan is also looking for graphic artists to help in designing the poster and t-shirt…
In the following months Roberto Luz will be writing a lot about what YOU can do specifically to help to make the festival a reality and hoping that, if you have something interesting to share, you will write Roberto today. Meanwhile, the best thing that you can do to help is to talk to your friends, share this page with as many people as possible, and do what you can to get the energy flowing…
To volunteer contact Roberto Luz throughout the Festival Atitlan website: http://www.festivalatitlan.com
