This week's Photo of the Week was taken by Laura Belle Burgess of Jaibalito. This unusual shot of a rainbow over Volcano San Pedro at dawn was photographed in August 2012. Thanks, Belle!

Well, the main event this week is, obviously, Semana Santa and all of the activities surrounding it, particularly the laying out of the alfombras on Friday and the processions. Every village has their own unique customs. Pick a village or several and enjoy one of Guatemala's best holidays.
For those who do not know, even little Santa Cruz la Laguna has begun to create alfombras for Semana Santa. They will be laying them out late Friday afternoon. Come check it out!
