The Santa Cruz Feria is coming up this week! The bands have been practicing for weeks now. Come on up and join in some of the festivities.
To get everyone in the mood I've posted on the Santa Cruz website some photos I took of last year's Feria. Particularly great is the annual parade which includes all of the children in costumes. And then there are the chicas with their dresses made from chip bags! Gotta love it! La Galeria in Panjachel is hosting Cine Foro every other Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Valentina Ricca and Florencia Goldsman are the founders of Cine Foro which so far seems to feature some excellent quality documentaries and foreign films. A suggested donation of Q7 is being asked. A small amount for such great films!
This week's offering is XXY

People seem to be a little confused about the hours at CECAP's Cafe Sabor Cruceño. In general, the hours are Monday - Saturday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. They are closed on Sundays.
As the Culinary Program classes are held in the restaurant after 3 p.m., it is best to plan your visit to end before 3 p.m.
Occasionally there might be special circumstances that necessitate changing the hours or closing the restaurant for a large group. To make sure that the Cafe is open, you can call the CECAP office: 5287-1391
And if you've eaten their recently, please give them a nod on Trip Advisor! http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g313832-d3238666-Reviews-Cafe_Sabor_Cruceno-Santa_Cruz_La_Laguna_Lake_Atitlan_Solola_Department_Western_Hi.html

If you haven't made a visit to the end of Santander in Panajachel recently, well you should. The city of Panajachel recently constructed a "Mirador" at the end of the street. It was made possible with the work and partnerships from different institutions including the Canadian government. Not only is the Mirador very cool in itself, but so is this video of the construction and inauguration by Jay Zacc. Check it out!
