Now that the recycle bins have been removed from the Panajachel Puesto de Salud on Santander, people have been wondering where to take their recyclables. You can still recycle in Pana, but you must go to the Centro de Acopio y Recycle on Calle de la Navidad. Here is a map of the location.
It has been reported that several propane gas tanks have been stolen over the last several weeks from residences and business in Santa Cruz. It is recommended that tanks be secured in some manner and everyone be on the lookout for unauthorized persons. Also, one guardian reported that 2 mangera's were taken. Several people have also reported sculptural objects taken from their properties. These are thefts of opportunity. Don't give the thieves opportunity. Secure your property. IF someone tries to sell you a sculpture and you think might be stolen, you might consider buying it for a cheap price and then taking a photo of the seller with the object. This way we can hopefully identify the thief.
